Changes

The last major changes to the Lincoln Town Car came in 2003. Little has changed since, and the car is sold to retail customers only through special order these days, as most of Town Cars find homes with fleet and limo services.

 

Value

The Town Car has been a standard of American-built, full-sized, luxury cars for decades, with V8 power and a comfortable ride. The interior has power everything and niceties like dual-zone climate control, but its strong suit is in roominess. The Town Car can seat six, plus it has a famously huge trunk, now with remote open and close.

 

Overview

The Town Cars' 4.6-liter V8 puts out 239 hp and is mated to a standard 4-speed automatic transmission. Traction control and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are standard, as is Ford's Personal Safety System, which includes dual-stage airbags.

The Town Car comes in two levels of trim, the Signature Limited and extended Signature L, which adds six inches to the wheelbase. Both have body-on-frame construction and a reserved, formal design. They also share standard rear park assist, power heated seats, power adjustable pedals, and 17-inch wheels.

In addition to those six extra inches, the Signature L adds folding front and rear arm rests and a rear seat amenities package that includes a tissue bin, cigar lighter, heated seats and controls for audio, climate, and the front passenger seat.

Options for the Lincoln Town Car are limited, but whitewall tires are on the list, along with the 18-inch tires and high-intensity discharge headlights.
